The design of a Cantilever Rack with a single load bearing upright allows a greater level of flexibility, in which materials or products can be readily stored, identified, and retrieved.
The nature of the design allows for a single load bearing upright to be fitted with a series of adjustable arms capable of supporting the stored materials. This single upright feature allows products of variable size and length to be stored without being limited to the outside dimension of the rack structure.

A cantilever is a beam that is anchored at one end, and the beam carries the load to the support. Cantilever construction allows for overhanging structures without external bracing and can commonly be seen in lumber yards and plumbing suppliers.
When used in a warehouse storage system, cantilever racks are a system of vertical columns, with bases, arms, and horizontal or cross bracings. The cantilever components are fabricated from both roll formed and structural steel. The horizontal or cross bracings can connect multiple columns together.
